CareerNova is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we keep it safe.

Information We Collect

  • Account details: your name and email address when you sign up.
  • Resume content: the text extracted from PDF or DOCX files you upload for analysis.
  • Usage data: feature interactions, session activity, and subscription tier to improve the product.

How We Use Your Information

  • AI analysis: your resume and job description text are sent to our AI engine to generate scores, skill gaps, roadmaps, and rewrites.
  • Account management: your email is used for authentication, billing, and transactional notifications.
  • Service improvement: aggregated, anonymised usage patterns help us prioritise features and fix issues.

Data Storage & Security

  • All data is stored on AWS infrastructure (DynamoDB, S3) hosted in secure, SOC-2-compliant data centres.
  • Resume files are stored in encrypted S3 buckets with access restricted to your account.
  • Data in transit is protected by TLS 1.2+. We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties.

Third-Party Services

  • Google OAuth: used for sign-in. Google may collect data per their own privacy policy.
  • Razorpay: handles payment processing. Card details are never stored on our servers.
  • AWS Bedrock (Claude): resume and JD text is sent to AWS Bedrock for AI inference. AWS processes this data under their data processing agreement.

Data Retention & Deletion

  • We retain your data for as long as your account is active.
  • You can delete your account at any time from the Settings page. This permanently removes your profile, uploaded resumes, and all generated content.
  • Anonymised, aggregated analytics may be retained after deletion.
